What the jobs actually are
Nobody scoops for two hours straight. Stations rotate on the hour.
- ScoopingTwo people per line, working out of coolers behind the table. Hard on the wrist, easy on everything else.
- Bowls & toppingsHand out bowls and spoons, keep the toppings tidy, move people along.
- FloaterWater stations, trash, and keeping the two lines from tangling. The most useful job at 2 pm.
- Backstock & reliefRefill tubs from the coolers and cover each table for a fifteen-minute break.
- Check-inThe “Start here” table. Greet neighbors, tick off volunteers as they arrive.
- RaffleSell tickets along the ice cream line while people wait, then run the drawing.
- Membership & t-shirtsNext to check-in. Sign up new members, hand out shirts.
- Setup & breakdownCanopies, tables, chairs, coolers. No scooping involved — just a strong back and an hour.
Where everything goes
The park runs along Park Blvd. You come in at the Hollywood Ave end, where check-in is; the ice cream lines are down at the far end, with the kids’ zone beyond them.
